VG HEMA PLASTRON 350N
VG HEMA Plastron 350N, just like the VG Padded Skirt model, was designed in cooperation with the Vectir school from Poland. It is aimed at fighters looking for additional cushioning on the chest.
This model was created with the aim of upgrading the amortization and durability of this HEMA gear. We recommend it to coaches, beginners, and HEMAists who want to increase the level of durability of their HEMA gear, for example after changing the intensity of training. It’s an all purpose and unisize gear.
It is made of black fabric with squared quilting. It has a high collar and straight base. It is fastened with 3 belts on the back.
Plastron is covered with a composite of 350N puncture resistance. Its collar has a 3-segment bladecatcher. This gear seems to be thin in touch, but it consists of a few layers of densely quilted fabric. Belts on the back are adjustable, providing a proper fitting to the body shape, regardless of size. They are fastened with plastic buckles.
VG Plastron is lightweight, perfect for various body shapes. It does not hinder the movement, increasing the cushioning in the most important section - on the torso. HEMA Plastron VG 350N is part of a set including also HEMA Padded Skirt.

Histry of a plastron and its purpose
Plastron is used as outer torso cushioning. Its name derives from the Old-Italian word piastrone, meaning breastplate. As you may know, it’s a front part of cuirass. In ancient times cuirass was made of materials like hardened leather. Greeks, but later also Romans, casted cuirasses with image of musculature. In the Middle Ages such were worn usually on chain armor or as part of plate armor.
The product from the assortment is not personal protective equipment - it is intended for simulating the impression during the study on the treatise techniques. It is not dedicated for fencing or contact sport. If you wish to do contact martial arts, please use personal protective equipment.
